Description
The Operations Manager leads all operational activities, ensuring efficiency, continuity, regulatory compliance, and high service standards. This role oversees logistics, maintenance, production/assembly, technical service, and rental operations, ensuring services are delivered on time, with quality, and meeting or improving profitability targets.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across service, production, logistics, and rental areas.
- Ensure availability of repaired equipment, spare parts, and packaged solutions according to demand.
- Continuously optimize repair, testing, and operational processes.
- Supervise quality control and ensure compliance with internal standards.
- Lead technical service teams in the field and workshop.
- Ensure compliance with service systems, response times, and warranty quality.
- Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for key clients.
- Manage supply chain operations, including procurement, imports, and supplier relationships.
- Optimize inventory levels while ensuring critical availability.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and HSE standards.
- Lead internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Control operational costs including labor, logistics, inventory, and waste.
- Define and monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, productivity, cycle times, rework, and quality.
- Drive financial performance aligned with projected EBITDA.
- Lead and develop teams across operations, logistics, planning, and technical service.
- Set objectives, evaluate performance, and promote technical training.
- Maintain an effective organizational structure aligned with business needs.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of pumping systems, hydraulics, and industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with API, ANSI, ISO, and mining standards.
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and planning tools.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across operations, logistics, and technical service.
- Strong focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
- Analytical mindset with KPI management (OTD, productivity, cycle times, rework, quality, costs).
- Customer-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing supply chain, inventory, and supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of safety, environmental, and HSE standards, especially in mining environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Proactive, process-driven, and able to work under pressure.
- Strong commitment to safety and operational continuity.
- Fluent English (spoken and written).
- Availability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Based in Antofagasta.
