Purpose

As a Product Line Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of pre-packaged fire pump systems. This role focuses on organizing and optimizing product configurations, ensuring technical accuracy, and supporting the sales team with up-to-date engineering documentation and product data. You will contribute to enhancing product performance, cost-efficiency, and customer satisfaction through innovation, collaboration, and technical expertise. Your work will directly impact the reliability and competitiveness of our fire protection solutions in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the electrical design and development of ETP firepump packages, including standardized electrical raceways, HVAC systems, wiring diagrams, and power distribution systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and sales teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
  • Review and interpret client specifications, applicable codes (e.g., NFPA 20, UL/FM), and project requirements.
  • Prepare and validate technical documentation including BOMs, schematics, and test procedures.
  • Support manufacturing and commissioning teams with troubleshooting and technical guidance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in product design, cost optimization, and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial electrical design, preferably in firepump or similar packaged systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical standards and codes (NFPA, UL, IEC, NEC).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar design tools.
  • Experience with motor control systems, VFDs, PLCs, and instrumentation.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (preferred).

 

Preferred attributes:

  • Experience in fire protection systems or pump packaging.
  • Familiarity with project lifecycle from design to commissioning.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
